The accident which happened in February 2000 at the Guzet-Neige ski resort (Ariège) has centred our attention on the dangers of off-piste skiing.
After a fall, an 18-year-old man presents multiple traumas with an initial immediate coma.
Thanks to the presence of a medicalized mountain rescue helicopter and in coordination with the rescue teams of the ski resort, the intervention was carried out in the best conditions. After a 25-day hospitalisation, the victim left the neurosurgery department of the Purpan Hospital (31) without serious sequels.
